DragonHeart – Team Captain Rob Flanders

DragonHeart exists to support and encourage the growth of dragon boat racing in the greater Lansing area. The activity of dragon boating unites the body, mind and spirit creating a community and a culture of unity. Dragon boating is a fun activity that promotes ‘team building’ excellent for group and corporate trainings.

DragonHeart is committed to the promotion of the Capital City Dragon Boat Race and to elevating its status to the premier dragon boat race in the midwest. Be a part of something bigger than yourself…DragonHeart…

Lansing Derby Vixens Skate Oar Die – Team Captain Kristen Adams

The Lansing Derby Vixens Skate Oar Win team is the Lansing Derby Vixens – Vixen and Friends team! This boat is made up of all of our support staff volunteers, spouses, friends and family! One of the things that make’s the Lansing Derby Vixens so special is the amazing support that we have from our family, friends and the Lansing Community. This boat is co-ed and ready to SKATE OAR DIE!

Cooley – Team Captain’s – Cynthia Ward and Jody Dudash-Bell

Team Cooley is a mishmash of faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Cooley Law School who enjoy having a good time. With campuses in Lansing, Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Grand Rapids, and Tampa Bay, Cooley Law School believes a diverse student body enhances both the academic experience and the legal profession.

Aqua Avengers – Team Captain Scott McQuiston

The Board of Water & Light is owned and operated by hometown people, and has grown to become the third largest electric utility in the state, the largest municipally owned utility in Michigan and a major employer in the Lansing area. By owning the BWL, their customers enjoy electric rates that are the lowest in the state, averaging 20 percent or more below the average rates of other utilities in Michigan. Their mission is to provide reliable service at affordable rates, with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.

Emergent Bio Dragons – Team Captains Larry Atteberry and Jessi Wortley

Emergent’s mission is simple—to protect life. As a global biopharmaceutical company, Emergent pursues the development, manufacture and commercialization of vaccines and therapeutics that target infectious diseases, oncology and autoimmune disorders. Participating in the Capital City Dragon Boat Race allows us to continue our mission by supporting our community while promoting healthy teambuilding activities for our employees.

Lansing Derby Vixens Skate.paddle.Win – Team Captain Kristen Adams

The Lansing Derby Vixens Skate.Paddle.Win team is the Lansing Derby Vixens ALL Female ALL skater teamfor this years Dragonboat Race! They are Lansing’s PREMIER women’s flat track roller derby league and they’re always looking for new skaters, referees, non-skating officials and other volunteers.

They’re a strong, stable, skater-owned, skater-driven organization dedicated to promoting the sport of roller derby, empowering women from all walks of life and bettering their community. Whether they’re volunteering for local events or donating portions of their proceeds to charity, they love Lansing and they show it!

Looking Glass River Dragons – Team Captain Ione Berg

Looking Glass River Dragons is a group of paddle water sport enthusiasts who promote the enjoyment and responsibility of the river and help maintain and improve the watershed. This team believes that just like in their kayaks, they are the horsepower that drives their destiny.

Star Oars – Team Captain Mary Chris Hotchkiss

The mission of the Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau is to positively impact the area’s economy by marketing the region as a travel destination. What that boils down to is they want you to love Greater Lansing just like they do. Whether you’re traveling for a sports tournament, professional conference or to visit our many attractions, they want your trip to be successful, memorable and, of course, just plain fun.

Best of KIN – Team Captain Sam Forlenza

The Best of KIN is a group of students and staff from Michigan State University’s Department of Kinesiology, or KIN. Their purpose is to engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative research that focuses on physical activity and sport across the lifespan and to educate individuals and groups to lead physically active, healthy lives.

Lansing Hospitality – Team Captain Jason Fawaz

Hospitality Professionals Unite! Team Lansing Hospitality is made up of the city’s hospitality and convention center professionals. Hampton Okemos, Quality Inn Lansing, Sleep Inn Dewitt, Lansing’s Ramada, and the Lansing Center make up Team Lansing Hospitality. They’re leaders in their industry and are committed to providing their guests with excellent service. Dirty Oars – Team Captain Amanda Lick

Just like the Mosaic Festival across the river, the Dirty Oars are a diverse collection of enthusiastic people who have a true love for Lansing. This group of Dragon Boaters genuinely believes in the concept of Stay-cations and there is no other place they want to spend their Labor Day weekend.
